Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle yet powerful method of bodywork that facilitates the body’s inherent ability to heal itself. CST pays special attention to the cranium, spine and sacrum, all of which are linked by a continuous membrane which houses the brain and the central nervous system.

Cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) surrounds the brain and the spinal column, supplying the central nervous system with vital nutrients. CSF washes and cleanses every cell in the brain, and provides an incredible opportunity for healing. When the CSF becomes sluggish or restricted due to injury or trauma of the body, many compensatory problems occur. Consider that our bodies are made up of 70% fluid, and we begin to appreciate the value of this fluid, this ‘breath of life,’ this ‘potency,’ within the system. Dr. A. T. Still, the father of Osteopathy, stated that “fluid, ‘the great river of life’ must be tapped and the withering fields irrigated at once, or the harvest of health be lost forever.”

With this in mind, this fluid-based work has tremendous application in the health field. CST offers profound benefits for the release of physical, mental and emotional tension, and enhances the function of every system in the body. It can be very helpful in treating musculoskeletal issues, such as whiplash, TMJD, sciatica, chronic pain, migraines, birth trauma, depression, PTSD, organ function, digestive issues and recovery from surgery. As my teacher, Beth Cachat, would often say, “CST treats head injury to sprained ankles, and everything in between…”

This work is rooted in Anatomy and Physiology but I believe it bridges beautifully with the deepest mystery of how we know ourselves as energetic and spiritual beings. As a practitioner of CST, I seek to hold a neutral mirror for my client’s systems and reflect back to them their inherent wholeness and the forces and means in which they can access their deepest truths and resolutions from past traumas. For me, CST is about recovering and re-membering who we truly are as vastly gorgeous intelligent beings, blessed with the opportunity of a life in a body. Biodynamic CST offers a profound and gentle way to find our way back ‘home.’

CST offers an opportunity to reclaim joy, vibrancy, spaciousness, grace, vitality and optimal health. I am delighted to work alongside my clients using this profound and dynamic modality and am excited and honored to facilitate and witness amazing beneficial results with these techniques.
